Today I started as stage manager. Meeting everyone was really fun and I really enjoyed seeing everyone act out their scenes, and planning what to do with the stage during each one. I worked closest with the director Lucy to figure out how we were going to set up the stage

Today I organized a cleanup of the library in order to start preparing to create props and set pieces for the stage. After sketching out some plans with the director, and starting to work with my own stage crew on the overall plan, I feel like everything is starting to come together.

As we've started to build the set pieces, I've encountered a few issues with missing pieces and people who are unable to show up. These all have helped me better understand my position as not just a part of the team but a leader, I am really enjoying the process so far.

Due to the long rehearsal schedules, and the stressful environment, being a stage manager has become something that is fun but trying and stressful. However I am glad to see i am not the only one as everyone is starting to feel the nerves since we are getting closer to showtime.
