De Avond Show

This is a dutch weekly satirical commentary show, which covers a broad range of topics, usually related to politics or whatever is in the news. Its a really funny talk show where Arjen Lubach uses satire to comment about local or international affairs, always managing to keep it fun no matter what the topic. Watching his show with English subtitles has really helped me develop my language skills. Each episode is usually about 30 minutes. I watched the weekly episodes for about 3 seasons, spread throughout the past 2 years.
Oog Appels
Total time: 15 hours
Oog Appels is a dutch show about teenagers and their parents, and the struggles they each face. It goes into the dutch culture of teens, and how they interact with their environments. Each episode is usually around 45 minutes. Personally I watched season 1-2.
Conversation with dad
Total: 20 hours
My dad is a native Dutch speaker, so I often try and converse with him in dutch instead of English. He always manages to correct my pronunciations, and helps me remember certain words. This I've done almost daily since starting the portfolio in 2023
Duo lingo
Total: 17 hours
I try and complete a daily amount of 15 minutes worth of dutch duo lingo. Here I learn how to spell them, how to construct sentences, and how to pronounce specific words.
De 7 Sprong
Total time: 12 hours
De 7 Sprong is a dutch book I've been reading about children discovering a secret within a forest. It's a book meant for middle schoolers, so its easier for me to read. It helps me learn vocabulary. I also watched the show they made about the book which was about 5 hours.
